Ref4UU aims to bring together news, knowledge, experiences, questions and answers of all those in the Utrecht University community using Refworks or other software and sites to manage references. Although better use of Refworks is the primary goal, discussion on CiteUlike, Connotea, Endnote, BibTex, Mendeley, Reference Manager, Zotero and others is also welcome.

What you call "normal" is still extremely slow and unser-unfriendly compared with EndNote. What do you expect from a "truely" web-based application. Its performance depends, upon other things, on the availability and speed of the network.
In particular, using RefWorks is extremely complicated because the program still needs a lot of improvements (for which we are the testers). Cooperations with others is difficult/impossible (as I can tell you after a few months of using RefWorks, which was NOT a free choice)
Give me back my EndNote!
I have been experiencing extreme slowness using RefWorks all week. At first, I thought it was my internet connection (hotel room abroad) but even at home, where my connection works fine with everything else, it starts to get incredibly slow after a while. Is there any way of solving this problem? Right now, it makes it almost impossible to write a paper and insert the citations at the same time, which, quite frankly, is more than frustrating.
Sharon, if you are a UU student or researcher, could you please conact me by mail? j dot bosman at uu dot nl
